The following is from Baber, Jack. Early history of Greene County, Indiana . : N.B.
Milleson, Worthington Times Office, 1875. Pgs. 76:
"Old Father Richey settled on the creek, about a mile above the Doan place, on the
Lester farm"
"Old man Richey (Barney?) and sons first built a mill at the present Barker mill
seat, in Cass township."
A portion of the Topo map showing the sites would be great. A Township/Range-1/4,1/4 (or
just 1/4) section will also suffice just fine.
The Richey family had land transactions with my GG Grandparents Absalom and Nancy Davis
between 1840-45 (see below). I suspect Absalom may have worked at the mill or lived close
by.

Deed Record Book D, Page 631: Deed Dated 3 Sep 1840, Recorded 9 Sep 1840, Absalom
& Nancy DAVIS deeded the same 13 acres in NE 1/4 SW 1/4 Section 22-6-5 to
Pleasant RITCHEY. (2)
