I spent a brief time looking for the cemetery one day and discovered that it
is down a road mostly overgrown. You have to turn right off the road that
goes past the Griffin Industeries. The new Slinkard cemetary is not much
better off. It is on the same road as the Griffin Industries. There are
more stones that have been renewed and many of the old stones that are still
readable. Some of the broken stones are sort of readable and then there are
the ones that are not. I didn't go digging back into the undergrowth so
don't know what might be available farther back. Now, for the good news.
The Newberry Cemetery is really in good shape. This one is to the right
just past the bridge that brings you into the town of Newberry. Good luck
in your search.

I have not been to the actual location of the Old Slinkard Cemetery,
however, I have been to the Griffin Industeries plant which is close by.
Warning, you my need noseplugs as you approach Griffin as this is a
rendering plant.
The following directions were taken from "CEMETERIES OF EASTERN GREENE
COUNTY, 1994, Greene County Historical Society, Cass Township, Section 36
{Township 6 North Range 6 West}, Page 55: Turn east off State Road 57 in
Newberry and follow signs south to Griffin Industries, which is on County
Road 400W. About 200 yeards northeast of the water meter at Griffin
Industeries is a pile of broken marble, which is all that is laeft of the
Old Slinkard Cemetery, said to have contained at least 40 graves at one
time. Among the jumble of bradly broke markers, two fragments were legible
with the names of Samuel Hughen and Samuel Skomp. Search for and found by
Sandra Uland Taylor and Mildred Uland, September 1993."
There are probably many residents of Newberry who may be able to direct you
to the exact spot.
I have attached two items, one a topographical map of the area which
indicates the Old Slinkard Cemetery is southwest of Griffin, the other an
aerial photo of the area, the light area on the map containing several
buildings is Griffin.
