I am seeking additional information concerning Thomas W. Edington and Cara
Belle Palmer.
Thomas W. Edington was born in 1879. He married Cara Belle Palmer, 2 Sep
1899, in (Linton ?), Greene County, Indiana. He died in 1920 and is buried
at Fairview Cemetery, Stockton Township, Greene County, Indiana.
Cara Belle Palmer was the daughter of Phenis (Phineas ?) Palmer and Cynthia
Ann (Waggoner) Palmer. She was born 21 Nov 1881 (in Texas or Indiana?).
Cara Belle died 1 Jan 1903 and is buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery,
Stafford Township, Greene County, Indiana.
I have no factual information concerning any children of the marriage of
Thomas W. Edington and Cara Belle Palmer. However, my interpretation of the
cemetery readings for Fairview Cemetery, Stockton Township, Greene County,
Indiana, are that a Donald Edington is buried next to Thomas W. Edington.
The readings are EDINGTON MONUMENT, Edington, Donald, 1902 - 1918, Edington,
Thomas W., 1879 - 1920. There are other Edington burials at Fairview
Cemetery, however they are remote from Thomas W. and Donald. There are
several Edingtons buried at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Some of the graves are
in close proximity to Cara Belle's grave. In my Great-grandmother's
(Cynthia Ann Waggoner Palmer) photo collection is a picture of two small
children. The children are identified as Donald & Leno Edington. My
Great-grandmother's photo collection also contained a memorial card for
Donald Edington that was apparently printed at the time of his death. The
memorial card shows Donald's birth date as 10 Mar 1902 and his death date as
8 Dec 1918. I found no grave for Leno in either Fairview Cemetery or
Pleasant Grove Cemetery, indicating that she may have lived to womanhood and
married. Could Donald & Leno Edington be the children of Thomas W. Edington
and Cara Belle (Palmer)?
Information concerning:
(1) the children of Thomas W. Edington and Cara Belle (Palmer);
(2) the parents of Thomas W. Edington; and,
(3) why Cara Belle (Palmer) Edington and Thomas W. Edington are not buried
in the same cemetery,
will be appreciated. Thank you.
