Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Antioch church for

o’clock when he was thrown from a wagon while crossing the Monon railroad tracks near the
oil tanks in south Bloomfield.
Following the accident he was taken to the Freeman-Greene County Hospital where he died
Sunday morning about 5:45 a.m. Cooper was thrown from the wagon when he attempted to cross
the tracks where there was no crossing. He was pinned against the track by a wagon wheel

called to a young girl, passing nearby, to summon help.
In an effort to save his life, doctors performed an operation to stop the bleeding from
internal injuries. Dr. King L. HULL, county coroner returned a verdict of death by shock
due to a ruptured liver.
