Mrs. Elsie E. GEORGE, well known resident of Koleen, died at 4:15 o’clock this morning at
the Freeman-Greene County Hospital, following an illness of about two years.
She was born at Koleen on February 17, 1892, and was the daughter of Albert and Belle
(MARTINDALE) WRIGHT. All of her life had been spent in the community, where she was a
member of the Koleen Methodist Church.
Surviving are the husband, Arlo GEORGE; three daughters, Mrs. Chester STULTZ, of Danville,
Illinois; Mrs. Carl GILMORE, of Koleen, and Mrs. John SHERFIELD, of Spencer; two sons,
James A. GEORGE and Samuel D. GEORGE, both of Bloomfield, R. 3; a half-brother, Jasper
WRIGHT, of Bloomfield; a half-sister, Mrs. Blanche ASHCRAFT, of Bedford, and 10
grandchildren. Two children preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Koleen Union
Church. Rev. Gayle WILLIAMS will officiate at the services, and burial will be made in
the Ashcraft Chapel Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home until the hour of the
services.
