Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Lawrenceport
Cemetery for Harry H. HAYS, well-known local businessman.
Mr. HAYS passed away at the Bloomington Hospital Thursday afternoon at 12:30 o’clock
following a short illness. He became seriously ill on Wednesday, and was taken to the
hospital at that time.
Born at Lawrenceport {Lawrence County, Indiana} on November 14, 1881, he was the son of
George {Albert} and Elvira (BARNES) HAYS. He had in earlier years been associated with
the Pennsylvania Railroad Company in Chicago. He and his wife had resided in Bloomfield
for several years, and had for some time resided at the Clyff Cave home in Highland
Township. He was a partner in the Hays & Sons Furniture Company here.
Surviving Mr. HAYS are his wife, Mrs. LeVern {P.} {MYNOR} HAYS; two sons, George M. HAYS,
of Bloomfield, and Harry L. HAYS, of Indianapolis, and five grandchildren.
The Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
