Claude HILL, 80-year-old father of John A. HILL, of Bloomfield, died at the home of his
son on East Main Street here Monday night about 6:30 o’clock. Death was attributed to a
paralytic stroke. Mr. HILL had been in failing health for the past two years and
seriously ill for about four months.
Mr. HILL was born August 7, 1867, on the HILL farm northwest of Sandborn. He was the son
of John W. and Allie (WILSON) HILL. He was a member of the Sanborn Methodist Church and
was a charter member of the Sandborn F. & A. M. Lodge No. 647. He was preceded in
death by his wife, Della (RENNER) HILL, on July 23, 1945, and by a brother, who passed
away a few years ago.
Mr. HILL was a lifelong resident of the Sanborn community until he came to Bloomfield to
make his home with his son on year ago.
Survivors include the son; three grandchildren, Mrs. Delnetta BOSWELL AND Mrs. Vida Marie
RIDDLE, both of Bloomfield; Mannon C. HILL, of Clovis, N. M., and one sister, Mrs. Louemma
CORBIN, of Sandborn.
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Poindexter &
Wampler Funeral Home in Sandborn. Rev. L. D. ROBERTSON officiated at the services, and
burial was in the Westphalia Cemetery.
