THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Thursday, May 3, 1951, Volume
LXXXI, Number 28, Page 1, Column 3, “Ollie E. Hill, 48, Taken by Death—Services Held

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Walnut Grove
Church of God for Olllie Ellis HILL, who died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his
residence west of Bloomfield Thursday afternoon. He was stricken while plowing a field
and passed away soon afterwards. The Rev. Merla CRAIG officiated, and burial was made in
Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Mr. HILL was born June 10, 1902 in Greene County, the son of Dave and Nettie (DOVE) HILL.
He spent his entire life in this community and was engaged in farming most of the time.
Survivors include the parents, the widow, Mrs. Nellie HILL, a son, Lavon HILL, of
Bloomfield Route 3, a daughter, Mrs. Rowena ROUDEBUSH, of Bloomfield Route 2 and four
sisters, Mrs. Nellie LONG, Mrs. Verna WRIGHT, and Mrs. Lorene BLAKER, all of Bloomfield,
and Mrs. Bertha DUFF, of Hammond. A son Larry Gale, preceded him in death in 1950.
Jenkins and Sons were in charge of the final arrangements.
