Death claimed as its victim last Saturday morning at 5:30 o’clock, Mrs. Nora Ulyllis
CALVERT, wife of John CALVERT, of this place. She had been sick for many weeks. She was
a daughter of Daniel and Amanda {HAYWOOD} SCHRANTZ. Her mother died when she was a small
child. She was born near Mineral on March 20, 1871, and, therefore, was aged forty-five
years, four months and two days.
She united with the Church of God at Walnut Grove when a girl, and after her marriage and
location in Bloomfield she joined the Baptist Church her and was a consistent member.
She married John CALVERT on September 16, 1893, and to this union four children were born.
One son and a daughter died in infancy. Two daughters, Ada and Daisy, together with the
father, survive. The daughters were at Wequetonsing, Michigan with Mr. and Mrs. W. S.
BOGY, when they received the announcement of their mother’s death.
The deceased also leaves her father, two brothers, Will SCHRANTZ, of this place, and Ed
SCHRANTZ, of Bickelton, Washington; one sister, Mrs. Ann MATTERN, of Louisville, and two
half sisters, Mrs. Agnes COMBS and Mrs. Cassie MANTELL.
The funeral was held at the family home in Bloomfield last Sunday afternoon at 5:30
o’clock, the services being conducted by Rev. F. H. LEVELL, pastor of the Baptist Church.
The Baptist choir furnished vocal music.
Interment in Grand View Cemetery.
