The death of Mrs. Alvin BURNETT, who was formerly Miss Gladys AUSMAN, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John AUSMAN, of this place, occurred at her home in Peru last Thursday morning. The
funeral was held in that city Sunday afternoon and the burial was at that place, which was
formerly the home of the AUSMAN family.
She was taken home a few days before her death from the hospital, where she had been for
several weeks, and had undergone a surgical operation. Her father and mother, Mr. and
Mrs. John AUSMAN, of this place had been at her bedside for several days before death
came.
Mr. and Mrs. BURNETT were married just one year ago, July 19, while he was in military
service at Camp Shelby. She was formerly employed in the Forst store and had made many
friends there and elsewhere during her residence in Bloomfield. They moved to Peru last
spring, where Mr. BURNETT is employed in the C. & O. Railway shops. The funeral was
conducted from the home of Mrs. FRED STEINMETZ, and aunt of the deceased.
The following persons from here attended the funeral: Miss Mabel KEYS, Miss Zelma CATRON,
Mrs. Charles AUSMAN and two children, Helen and Homer Frederick, Mrs. E. H. FORST and two
sons, Frederick and William. Mr. and Mrs. Lee CHANEY and W. C. BURNETT.
