Message Board Post:
Linda,
Thank you for all of the information. I did not find anything on the Crow girls. I will
research around what you have offered and report back if I find support or anything amiss.
It looks like you have found them though. Mary F. Mansfield's marriages are well
documented. The marriages, after her first, can be found at the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene
County Library Web site. The URL is:

I also believe that your assumption that the Jackson children born before 1860 belong to
George's first wife, Lucy. I have not studied it but Lucy must have died because the
only child through the union of George Jackson an Mary Mansfield was Lucy A. Jackson.
That union did end a in divorce.
Here is what I have on Mary:
1. Mary F.2 Mansfield (Walter Jacob1) was born 11 Jan 1831 in OH, and died 29 Jan 1905
in Greene County, IN. She married (1) George Washington Edington 01 Nov 1846 in Coshocton
County, OH, son of Robert Edington and Margaret Hardesty. He was born 16 Dec 1821 in
Coshocton County, OH, and died 05 Jan 1859 in Greene County, IN. She married (2) George
M. Jackson 05 Apr 1860 in Green County, IN. He was born Abt. 1827 in IN. She married (3)
Mansfield Crow 10 Apr 1866 in Green County, IN. He was born Abt. 1830 in KY. She married
(4) Lewis Pugh 05 May 1872 in Dubois County, IN, son of Peter Pugh and Mary. He was born
Abt. 1811 in VA, and died Aft. 1882 in Columbia Township, Dubois County, IN.
Children of Mary Mansfield and George Edington are:
2 i. John W.3 Edington, born Abt. 1848.
3 ii. Francis Marion Edington, born 18 Jul 1850 in IN; died 19 Feb 1928 in Greene Co, IN.
He married (1) Dosia H. Miller 20 Sep 1868. He married (2) Theodocia H. Miller 20 Sep
1868 in Greene Co. IN; born 02 Sep 1851 in IN; died 25 Jan 1945.
4 iii. Ludelia A. Edington, born Abt. 1855 in IN. She married Peter Pugh 22 Oct 1871 in
Greene County, IN; born 20 Sep 1854 in PA; died 09 May 1945 in Terre Haute at home (1522
South Sixteenth Street) at 1:00 AM.
5 iv. Martha Edna Edington, born 1858 in IN; died 15 Nov 1942 in Bedford, Lawrence
County, IN (RR 5). She married Norval Randolph Inman 02 Apr 1874 in Greene Co. IN; born
Abt. 1848 in IN.
Child of Mary Mansfield and George Jackson is:
6 i. Lucy A.3 Jackson, born Abt. 1861.
Children of Mary Mansfield and Mansfield Crow are:
7 i. Charlotte3 Crow, born Mar 1864.
8 ii. Ida M. Crow, born Abt. 1867.
Child of Mary Mansfield and Lewis Pugh is:
9 i. Laura Bell3 Pugh, born 1871.
I believe the above to be fairly accurate. I do not believe that Laura Bell Pugh was
fathered by Lewis, however. His wife, Mary (Wright) Pugh was likely still alive when
Laura Bell was conceived and the marriage did not occur until about a year after Laura
Bell's birth. As I have said, that is what I believe, it is not necessarily fact.
I would like to know more, particularly how Mary hooked up with Mansfield Crow. Charlotte
Crow was apparently conceived when he was still in prison. Mansfield Crow may well have
been a cousin of sorts to Mary but I have not found such a connection. Mary F. Mansfield
is absolutely the most interesting person that I have come across in my research.
Again, thank you for all of the good information.
Jeff Pugh
