Funeral services were conducted today at the Owensburg Church of Christ for Mrs. Caroline
CASSODAY, 89-year-old native of Owensburg, who died, after a lingering illness, at 2:30
o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Georgia MARLEY, of Terre Haute.
Born in Owensburg on September 14, 1860, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary Jane
(HORTON) {sic} STROSNIDER. She became the wife of Howard FIELDS in 1876, and he preceded
her in death in 1920. In 1931 she was married to Scott CASSODAY, who passed away in 1933.
A daughter and son also preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons and five daughters; two sisters, including Mrs. Ella HATFIELD, of
Owensburg; 26 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
