THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Thursday, July 12, 1951,Volume

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the First Christian
Church for Mrs. Josephine QUILLEN, wife of Odes QUILLEN, of Bloomfield. Rev. H. J. TAYLOR
officiated, and burial was in Grandview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wayne MOORE, Ernest
GOODWIN, Aden HANNA, Tommy SIMPSON, H. L. HANNAH, SR, and Gilbert COMBS.
Mrs. QUILLEN passed away at her home on Wildcat Avenue about 4:40 o’clock Saturday morning
following a short illness. She had suffered a stroke on Monday of last week and had been
in a critical condition since that time.
Born in Richland Township on February 10, 1887, she was the daughter of David and Carrie
(DUNCAN) MITCHELL. She had spent her entire life in Bloomfield and was a member of the
First Christian Church here.
Surviving her are the husband, Odes QUILLEN; one daughter, Mrs. Rowena VOSLOH, of
Bloomfield; two sons, Robert QUILLEN, of Bloomington, and Ralph QUILLEN, of Bloomfield;
four sisters, Mrs. Ruth HUFFMAN and Mrs. Cora SNEDEKER, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Bonnie
HUFFMAN and Mrs. Veva FRY, both of Bloomfield.
The Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the final arrangements.
