David H. MITCHELL, son of James and Lucindy (FOGLEMAN) MITCHELL was born January 9, 1861
near Park, Indiana and departed this life, November 24, 1944, at the home of his daughter,
Mrs. Veva FRY in Bloomfield, Indiana.
He was united in marriage to Carrie H. DUNCAN May 29, 1880. She passed away May 26,
1934.
To this happy union were born nine children, three sons and six daughters, four having
died in infancy. The following children survive: Mrs. Cora SNEDEKER and Mrs. Ruther
HUFFMAN, of Indianapolis, Mrs. Josephine QUILLEN, Mrs. Veva FRY and Mrs. Bonnie HUFFMAN
all of Bloomfield. There are thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He
had six grandsons in our armed forces: S. Sgt. Robert QUILLEN of the air forces serving in
France, 1st Lieut. Rondal HUFFMAN IN Germany, Lieut. Bernard FRY in New Mexico, Pfc. John
R. HUFFMAN in Ft. Benning, GA, Kenneth L. CHANEY, B. M. 2\C U. S. Navy and William D
SNEDEKER S 1/C U. S. Navy and three grandsons by marriage, Pfc. Lenard SHOEMACHER in
France, George ESCHBRENNER a prisoner of the Germans, S\Sgt wm. C. COOPER recently
returned from fifty missions over Germany. Mr. and Mrs. MITCHELL and his wife were both
charter members of the Walnut Grove church. He rests God took him home it was his will But
in our hearts he liveth s!
