THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Thursday, December 31, 1925,

Pheroba Martin VEATCH, daughter of James Lee and Mary A. MARTIN, was born in Jefferson
County, Missouri on November 25, 1866 and died suddenly of heart trouble at her home near
Mineral City, Indiana on December 25, 1925. She was aged fifty-nine years one month and
one day.
She was married to Samuel A. VEATCH, at Linton in October 1900, where they made their home
for a few years. Three sons came to bless their home, namely: Asa, John and William. The
deceased is survived by her three sons, one granddaughter, Mary Alice VEATCH; also two
brothers and three sisters, namely: Arthur MARTIN, of Victoria, Missouri; Bertha LANDON,
of DeSoto, Missouri; and James MARTIN, Mrs. Ida KAY and Jane HEINEMAN, of Rossford, Ohio.
Mr. VEATCH passed away November 15, 1916. He was well known as a farmer and miner and was
a Republican in politics.
She united with the Mt. Carmel M. E. Church, near the country home, fourteen years old and
had been a loyal Christian during these years. She transferred her membership to the
Mineral City M. E. church in April 1919.
She has lived at her present home for twenty-one years and has been a good neighbor and a
friend to all with whom she became acquainted.
She was very devoted to her family and the church.
No task was too difficult for her to undertake for her sons.
She will greatly missed by all.
The funeral services were held in the M. E. Church at Mineral, Monday forenoon, conducted
by Rev. Guy V. HARTMAN, pastor of the Bloomfield M. E. Church. Interment in Grand View
Cemetery by the side of her husband.
The relatives from a distance attending the funeral were, Mrs. Bertha LANDON and children,
of DeSoto, Missouri, Mrs. Ida KAY AND Mrs. Jane HEINEMAN, of Rossford, Ohio and Mr.
MARTIN, of Rossford, Ohio.
