A week’s illness of pneumonia proved fatal to Mrs. Nancy SHEPHERD, seventy-two-year-old
resident of Linton Rural Route 3, Saturday at her home near Linton.
Mrs. SHEPHERD was the widow of George E. SHEPHERD. She was the daughter of Wiliam O. and
Sarah (HINKLE) MOODY, deceased and was born in Sullivan County on April 17, 1862. She was
married to Henry RICHARDSON, who passed a way a number of years ago. Her second husband,
George E. SHEPHERD, died a few years ago.
She is survived by the following stepchildren: Mrs. George PLEW and Howard SHEPHERD, of
Linton; Mrs. William HANEY, of the state of Michigan; Mrs. Lois LOVELASS, of Indianapolis,
and Mrs. George RAINES, of Dugger; two brothers, William and David MOODY, of Dugger; one
sister, Mrs. Grace TAYLOR, of Anderson.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Monday morning from the Olive Branch church with
interment in Lebanon Cemetery.
