The inter-library loan system can work reasonably well. I have used it to view microfilms
of some older Greene County newspapers at my local library.
I am aware of 4 possible sources for older newspaper microfilms for Greene County:
1 - Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library: Their Genealogy page
http://www.bloomfield.lib.in.us/genealogy.html indicates they have the Bloomfield News for
1888 forward.
2 - Indiana State Library, Newspaper Section
http://www.statelib.lib.in.us/WWW/INDIANA/newspaper.HTML Going to their holdings by
county shows a number of older Greene County newspapers.
3 - Vigo County Public Library in Terre Haute. Their Special Collections Department
http://www.vigo.lib.in.us/vcplspc/ has a listing of older Terre Haute newspapers, however,
I know they have some from Greene County as well.
4 - Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne Genealogy Department
http://www.acpl.lib.in.us/genealogy/ I am not able to find their old newspaper microfilm
holdings on their website. Maybe somebody else can help out here.
At first, I tried to find the actual microfilm holding I was interested in at another
library, but my local reference librarian told me to just ask for what I wanted and they
would try to find it. The cost is a nominal one for shipping [$3-4] and the film is
usually available for your viewing for a month.
