In my original post I described this booklet. It was my grandfather's. He would have been 10 years old in 1907. I have not information of the other you are seeking information on. It's very fragile and is in the posession of my father at this time. The computer that I originally had copied the file on crashed and I have yet to recover my files. I hope to one day get those files again. I have not given up! Lynn nee Mitchell

My Grandmother is (Mary) Etta Inman b;10-09-1900 sister of Hobart Inman. I am seeking information on Commodore Silvers and Ida May Baker. I am seeking information on Commordore's untimely death on 12-24-1905.
Ida May remarried James Vinson Arthur.
I also have a picture my grandmother "Mary Etta" gave me of she and Hobart with their parents must have been taken 1901-1902. Tell me about the West Island School Roster.

Hi Kate, I am not familiar with this cemetery or the Tally family, but I am wondering if you are aware of the Find-a-Grave website. It is a free site that I have used several times. Volunteers will often go to the cemetery and look for and take pictures of grave sites. Find-a-Grave does list a Tally Cemetery in Green County, IN. It has 15 internments listed. The website is:
http://www.findagrave.com/
The Tally Cemetery is:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=87117&CScn=Tally&CS...
I hope this helps.

During the Civil War soldiers were usually buried with in 100 yards of where
they were killed. That would make his grave some where near Bentonville.
Robert E Lee. was not known for burying his own troops so Northern
commanders buried Northern and Southern bodies together in a mixed
Cemetery. That is why Grant used Lee's Plantation at Arlington as a
Cemetery.

I have no information on the McWhirter's but I am curious about the Pugh
in your subject. I have some information on a William Pugh (1851-1921)
who married a Sarah Margaret Drake, the daughter of Elizabeth Stanley in
my primary family line. Perhaps we have mutual information that we could
share.

I found Preston's father Roderick, married to Mary Brewer. Roderick from N.C. married Mary in Grainger Tn. Also found several siblings of Preston's born in Indiana. John, Phillip Alexander,James, Ellen,Sarah, Harlan. Preston's and first wife Mary had two daughters. Second wife Miranda had 11 children with 6 that lived. Her and some of the children moved to Arkansas apparently after Preston and his folks died somewhere around Greene Co.Some of their children moved to Iowa some to Mo. I believe Roderick had a brother Angus living close by in a few of the census for Greene Co. Indiana. Anyone recognize any of these names?
