Gina,
I don't have either one in my Livingston Database, but I believe I had
sent someone some info on a Hugh Livingston several years ago, but I don't
have that info any more. Sorry I couldn't help you our more. Still might be
from our Livingston line, and I just might not have the info on them.
Good Luck,
Nj
Just wondering if there is a Matilda Livingston or Hugh Livingston in this
line. I have them in Bloomfield, Indiana 1839-1909.
Thanks,
gina

I believe this may be Modena's family, starting with possibly her Steward/Stewart great grandfather, Alexander:
1870 Smith Twp., Greene Co., Indiana
Enumeration Date: June 24, 1870

Steward, Lewis - age 28, farmer, born in IN
" Sarah J. - age 25, keeping house, born in IN
" Laura - age 4, born in IN
" Sarah D. - age 2, born in IN
" James F. - age 9mo., born September in IN
Hubble, George - age 18, day laborer, born in IN
" Nancy E.(Ella) - age 13, staying with sister, born in IN
It appears, even though I haven't located a marriage for John L. & Sarah J., that Sarah's maiden name was Hubble. Tracing George and Nancy back to 1860 I find them in the Samuel & Nancy Ann Hubble household in Jefferson Twp., Greene Co., IN. Other siblings living in the household are Sarah J., Thomas, Mary Ann, Eveline & Rebecca. (Nancy is listed as Ella in the 1860 census. In the 1850 census Samuel & Nancy (with children Sarah J., Thomas & Mary A.) are living in Jefferson Twp., Owen Co., IN in the household of Ahizah & Sarah Hubble, most likely Samuel's parents.
Living next to Samuel & Sarah Hubble in 1860 is Alexander Steward, father of (John) Lewis Steward who eventually marries Samuel's daughter Sarah J. Hubble and his children Clarinda, Lotte, Clark, Lewis & Pleasant.
Going back to the 1850 census finds Alexander Steward in Jefferson Twp., Greene Co., IN with his children;
Elizabeth, Clarinda, Lucinda, Charlotte, Clark, Lewis & Pleasant. So parents of (John)Lewis Steward are Alexander

This DANIEL line is a collateral line for me. I am descended from Elizabeth EVERLEY who married Edmund BURKS.
Susanna and Elizabeth are sisters.
The Henry P. DANIEL who married Mahala BULLOCK, I have not been able to fit into any of William, John or George W. DANIEL's families (sons of Susanna / Nathaniel).
There are, however, two other males in the Nathaniel DANIEL households as listed in the 1820 and 1830 census. There is also another female.
I suspect that Henry P. DANIEL is the son of the male born 1811/1815.
Has anyone found a will or probate for Nathaniel DANIEL, which might list his children?
If you are interested, I have some documentation on several generattions going back for the EVERLEY/EBERLEY, ISEMINGER, NOLLART, and Keßler lines.

thanks for your information I have wondered if Henry P could be a grandson of Nathaniel it makes sense. There is another Henry in the 1840 census in Monroe co IN. he is shown as being over 20 and under 30 yrs,old and a female of the same age range would put his birth year between 1810 and 1820, the William H some trees show as a son of Nathaniel could this possibly be a William Henry? My observation has been that most of these people went by they're middle names almost exclusively.

Goodspeed's 1884 "History of Greene & Sullivan Counties..." Lists only one Brandon and that is G. C. Brandon. The following are pertinent excerpts.
Pgs 120 - 121
The Greene County Times of April 24, edited by G. C. Brandon, said, among other matters: "We would gladly make any sacrifice that would restore peace to our unhappy land, and we believe this is the feeling of a large majority of
the citizens of this county; but no sacrifice now, but that of life, will do, and our people must prepare their minds for a civil war of the most vicious nature, and we may say to all citizens, when the trying time comes, act as becomes loyal citizens of the commonwealth in which you reside."
Pg 146
And as this is probably the last call that will be made upon our county, we hope all those who can conveniently leave home will enlist in this company immediately." G. C. Brandon, of the Times, joined the Fifty-ninth Regiment in November, and the issue of that paper there ended.
Pg 144
PERSONAL RECORD OF COMPANY D
The following is the best personal record that can be given the men of Company D of the Fifty-ninth Regiment from Greene County: R. A. Belden, Captain, resigned 1862; Philip Buck, Captain, honorably discharged 1864, veteran; G. C. Brandon, Sergeant, Second and First Lieutenant, Captain, mustered out with regiment;
Pg 203
In May, 1860, Mr. Rose secured an assistant in the person of G. C. Brandon. The paper was a power in the county during the hot political contest of 1860, and was continued by Messrs. Rose & Brandon until about July, 1861, when Mr. Rose entered the army, though he still continued to furnish editorial articles from the field. In November, 1861, Mr. Brandon also entered the army, whereupon the issue was discontinued.

The info I find shows:
Henry P Daniel
Born: 1 Jun 1832
[city], [county], Kentucky, USA
Died: 17 Aug 1851
Beech Creek, Greene, Indiana, USA
Henry is found in the 1850 Greene Co., census that I posted previously. It does not say it but it would be my guess that Henry P. is the son of John & Lucy Daniel and that Nathaniel is the grandfather.
