To Jim Bledsoe: Do you have The Bledsoe Family in America--research by
the late Banks McLaurin, Jr.?
I'm a descendant of Juda (Judy) Bledsoe McCoy via my grandfather Greenwood.
Her brother John Bledsoe became guardian of her children after the death of
their father, Elijah McCoy.
John and Juda were the children of David Bledsoe and Elizabeth Graves
Bledsoe.
( These lines are difficult because of duplication of names. Here are some
of
my old notes: John bledsoe m. Nancy Evans April 7, l839; David Bledsoe m.
Rebecca Evans March 25, l849. The Bledsoe & Graves families are east
Tennesseans, but Bledsoe contemporaries are in Greene, Sullivan, and
Owen counties at an early time.
David Bledsoe l794-l877? and Elizabeth Graves had: John b. l820, William b.
l829; David b l83l; Mary b. l827, Judith or Juda (mine) b. l822. My note
says
John was b. in east Tennessee June 5, l820.
I haven't looked at these files in several years and I do send a caveat that
my Judah, Judy, Judith had an aunt by the same name as I recall. Also, have
you seen the Antioch Church history?
~~Dixie Kline Richardson, Indianapolis (native of Greene and former
historian of Owen county)

This cemetery is located in Midland, IN in Wright Township on SR 59 and Co Rd 700N opposite from the Lebanon Baptist Church in Greene County's upper northwest corner. Thousands are buried there and I do not know who is the trustee for Wright Township, sorry. The source for this information is "Cemetereies of Western Greene County, Indiana, Volume II"

I think you are mistaken about Clara Peltier being a sister to Mabel. She was Mabel's Aunt. Mabel's father,Alfred was a brother to Clara, Emma,Sophia,Emil, and Joseph Peltier. Are Wayne and Betty your Grandparents?

Thank you for responding. I'm sorry, I neglected to give dates. This John was born 1820, died 1884. His wife Nancy was born ca 1820 and died 1877. The John buried at Samaria was this John's Uncle.
Do you have dates on the two Johns buried at Lebanon?
Thank you, James Bledsoe

Two John Bledsoe's are buried in the Lebanon Cemetery and one in the Samaria Cemetery 1800-1884. If John and Nancy are more recent burials than 1983, another source will be needed such as funeral home records, etc.

Mary Clark was most likely born in Greene Co., Indiana. 1850 and 1860 census have Indiana and 1870 has North Carolina. Can't find her in 1880. Sarah was born a year earlier in Greene Co., Indiana and there is no indication that the family moved.
Mary is buried next to her husband in Pleasant Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery (A.K.A. Greenbriar). Photos of tombstones can be found on the myfamily.com Dyar/Dyer site under Greenbriar.
Thomas, who married Rhoda Dunnigan was the father of Mary, Sally, Amy, etc. came from North Carolina. Family history has him the son of James Clark (research by Doris Dyar Thomason). Thomas arrived in Greene Co. about the same time as Caleb Jessep and probably from the same place. It is quite likely that they were related to Nancy and Rachel, but I have not found it.
