Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

I have some of the information you are looking for.
John and Rebecca are buried in Union Bethel Cemetery north of Bloomfield. I have them married in 1829. I believe her name was Corman.

Greene Co. Indiana. He married REBECCA HUNTER, daughter of ANDREW HUNTER and
SYDNEY STALCUP.
Rebecca was born 1844 also in Stafford
I have some info on the Gibson Family. Emeline "Lena" Gibson came from
Ohio and married Lincoln Culbertson. they are my great grand parents.
They had 2 children in Sullivan County : Harry Virgil Culbertson, he
was my grandfather, and Olive P. Culbertson Plank. Her father was
Lewis Gibson and he and his wife died in Grant, Greene, Indiana after
1880 Census. They had 9 children.

Mrs. Polly Ann HENNON, ninety-four years old, died at 8 o’clock last Thursday morning at the residence of her daughter, Mrs., Herbert CARTER, near Jasonville.
Mrs. HENNON, who moved to Jasonville from Owensburg four weeks ago, was probably the oldest resident of Greene County. Besides the daughter, she is survived by the husband, James M., and two sons, Luther CRAIG, of Indianapolis, and W. A. RICHARDS, of Bedford.
The body was taken to Mathers Funeral Home in Jasonville, and later returned to the daughter’s home Friday. At 12:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon the body was removed to the church at Owensburg to lie in state until 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, time of service. Burial was in Owensburg Cemetery.

John Wesley SHANKS, eighty-one years old, died at 3:30 o’clock Saturday morning at the home of a {half} sister, Mrs. Jonah {sic} WRIGHT, in the Lyons community. Heart trouble is said to have caused his death. He had been in failing health for several months.
Mr. SHANKS, a native of Greene County, was born in Taylor Township on October 12, 1854, and spent most of his life in that vicinity. For one term he served as assessor of Taylor township, being elected to that office on the Democratic politics.
The deceased was widely known in the county. He was the son of the lat William and Elizabeth (DOBBS) SHANKS. He was a member of the Lyons Methodist church.
Besides the sister, he is survived by a brother, Hugh Noble SHANKS, of Lyons.
Another sister, Mrs. William BRITTON, seventy-seven years old, died lat last week at Bloomfield, and was buried at Scotland.
Rites for Mr. SHANKS were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon from Prairie Chapel Church, with Rev. J. C. FOUTZ officiating. Interment was in Prairie Chapel Cemetery.

Can some kind soul tell me:
1- When did Greene County begin keeping death records as required by law? I assume these are the only ones kept by the County Health department.
2- Was this a state law that began in all Indiana counties in the same year?
3-Are all official death records retained by the Health Department in each county or is there a central repository for all counties at the State Department of Health?

Roy Dale Arthur was the grandson of John Arthur, a founding father of the town of Newark, located in Greene County, Indiana. He was the son of Benjamin and Cora (Ooley) Arthur. Roy was one of 6 children, his siblings were: Fern; Gordy: Wayne: Lura and Harold Arthur.
Mae Olive Oliphant had a Scottish heritage. Her parents were Lemuel Emery and Julia (Crites) Oliphant. Mae and her brother Albert grew up on her father's farm near Bloomfield, Indiana also in Greene County, Indiana. Mae's father was a school teacher in the Greene County schools.
Roy and Mae married on May 12, 1932 in Robinson, Illinois. They settled in Worthing, Indiana and had two sons Lemuel Dale and George Keith.
