Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to locate parents (and siblings) of Jane Fisher Armstrong-Larr.
Jane was born ca 1827 Indiana. She was married in 1846 to Albert Larr in
Greene County, probably the Jasonville area.
Could there be a connection between Jane Fisher Armstrong and William H. and
Margaret Armstrong? Jane and Albert Larr along with William and Margaret
Armstrong are listed as members of the Lebanon Baptist Church (Jasonville area).
Census material shows Jane's parents were both born in Kentucky.
Thanks,
Cathy

THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Thursday, January 20, 1921,Volume XLV, Number 10, Page 1, Column 5, “DEATH TAKES HEAVY TOLL DURING PAST FEW WEEKS—WELLS.” [Transcribed on June 19, 2005 by RLJ from microfilm of the original newspaper on file in the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library.]
William Sherman WELLS was born October 17, 1866 in Center Township, and departed this life December 24, 1920, aged fifty-four years two months and seven days.
He was a son of James and Sarah J. WELLS.
He was united in marriage to Mary M. RAY December 2, 1889, and to this union were born fourteen children, namely: Edward E., of Tulip; Clyde, of Summit Station, Ohio; Ollie of Ridgeport; Mrs. Ben BARTON, of Worthington; Ivan, at home; Mrs. Willie MCDANIEL, of Tulip; Curtis, of Bloomfield; Hazel, Clisten, Fern and Verdie, at home; and three preceded him to that other world in infancy, and little daughter, Ivah, thirteen months old.
He was converted in the Holiness church about six years ago on New Year’s Day. He always tried to live an upright life and to uphold the works of God. He was willing and ready at all times to help his friends and neighbors in time of sickness and trouble. He was a husband, father, friend and neighbor, not only in name, but in deeds and action. He will prove a great loss to his neighbors, but what is our loss is God’s gain. Our hearts go out to the family in their bereavement, but “God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Besides his wife and children, he leaves to mourn his death, five sisters, one twin brother, seven grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The funeral was held December 26 at the Ridgeport church, conducted by Rev. Charles SIMS, and the remains were interred in the Ridgeport Cemetery.
