On last Friday, Mrs. John P. STAGGERS was buried at the Chapel. Mrs. STAGGERS was a victim of consumption of the lungs. She had been a member of the M. E. Church eight years. She left with her many friends the comforting evidence of her preparation to meet God. All unite in sympathy with the bereft relatives of the deceased.

Yes, Loren, Oran and Alex are all males. They took the name of their adopted parents, Hildebrand.
As soon as I'm able to contact my niece I will ask her more questions and get back to you if she has more info. Elsie

Thanks so much for the reply. I have very little info on the families of Theodore Wright (I have 3 spouses), and my wife's family has ties to his 2nd wife, Katherine Lenore Rose Donahue.
Are Oran, Loren and Alex all males? Did they take Hildebrand as their surname? Was this adoption the result of the loss of the mother? (I have no death date, and this was a common reason for adoption.
I am interested in anything else you may have on he Wrights, particularly the family and ancestors of Abijah Wright and Angeline Connett, who I show as the parents of Dora David Wright. I am also interested in any American Indian connections, as there is a family story (as there appears to be in every family) of Indian bloodlines.
Lynn...I have a book entitled 'CEMETERIES OF WESTERN GREENE COUNTY, INDIANA
VOLUME III, FAIRVIEW CEMETERY, LINTON, INDIANA'. It lists Charles D.
Taylor, 1870 - 1937 & Bertha Taylor, 1885 -1939, both listed together &
buried in Row 12. There is a printed lay out of the cemetery & discription
of how all the listings were read if you would like a scan of these two
pages let me know & I'll send them directly to you. I find nothing of his
first wife, Amanda, listed in any of my Greene County Cemetery books.
Hope this helps some in you search.

Lynn,
I found "a"John Taylor age 79 bKY living in KY with most likely a son
named John W. age 27, but there was a William Taylor family living next to them.
There is no Rebecca living with them. I did an all state search for him and
only came up with [2] John Taylors that age b. KY. The other was in IL, but he
had a wife Jemina. I'm sending you an attachment with the full census page.

The children of Theodore Wright and Louise Mormance were Oran, Loren and Alex. Oran and Loren were twins. They were adopted by a family by the name of Hildebrand. Oran is still living. Loren died in 1994. I don't know if Alex is living. Louise' parents were Jules Mormance and Juliette Delmotte Loriaux. Jules and Juliette were born in Belguim.

THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Thursday, March 3, 1955,Volume LXXX, Number 20, Page 7, Column 2, “OBITUARY—HEATON.” [Transcribed on May 20, 2005 by RLJ from microfilm of the original newspaper on file in the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library.]
Nancy L. (THOMPSON){sic} HEATON, daughter of Levi and Susanna (GROVES){sic} was born near Coshocton, {Coshocton County,} Ohio on March 14, 1861 and departed this life February 7, 1955, at the age of 93 years, 10 months and 24 days.
When she was 20 years old, she came with her parents to Indiana and settled at Park. There she met John R. HEATON, who she married on June 30, 1887. They resided most of their life near Ridgeport and in later years lived at Lyons and Switz City. To this union eight children were born, four of whom preceded her in death. Two of her children died in infancy and a son, Earl, and a daughter, Olive (Mrs. Walter PADGETT) , passed away a few years ago. Her husband also preceded her in death July 17, 1942.
Surviving her are a son, Everett, of Petersburg, and three daughters, Clara MILLER, of Benton Harbor, Michigan; Khiva MUTERSPAUGH, of Indianapolis, and Bessie ULAND, of Bloomfield. She left 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She came from a long-lived family, for of her parent’s eight children, six have lived past the age of 80, and she has a living sister, Mrs. Lucy LYNN, of Linton. She also leaves to mourn their loss a host of other relatives and friends.
At the age of 14, Nancy accepted Christ as her Savior, and from that time on, lived a life of loyal devotion. She was a member of Sharkey Church of God. Always she enjoyed singing and praising her Lord and Master. A song she loved is the testimony she left, “I’m all ready to go, washed in Calvary’s flow.”
As a life of more that 93 years does bear fruit, and so did Grandma’s, or Aunt Nancy, as she was so well known by, for she lived a long life of service to others. She welcomed everyone to her home, and in her neighborhood no one was sick or in troubled sadness that she did not go quickly and lend a helping hand. She was most happy when she was sharing what she had with others. She left behind her children who cared for her in her declining days, and faithfully practiced the lesson she had taught them, “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” Also she leaves a memory of a devoted friend that shall linger on and continue to bear fruit for the Master she loved so well.
“And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, write, blessed are the dead which shall die in the Lord from henceforth yea, saith the Spirit, that they rest from the labours; and their work do follow them.”
