Hi!
Does anyone else know if their ancestors moved to Southern California
in the mid to late 1800's?
I would be interested to know about any movements to Iowa or Kansas
also.
Thanks, Darla

Hello!
Does anyone know of any Meltons that left Greene county IN for San
Diego county CA? I think they may have settled in Escondido but not
sure.
Someone sent me a copy of a photograph of a couple with a baby standing
in front of a dry goods store and on the windows is painted Melton and
Co. The photographer was Thomas and was located in Escondido.
Any information will be helpful.
Thank you, Darla

Hi Darla:
Sorry I can't help you with the Melton but I have just begun my search for
Carmichaels in Greene county. My great-great grandparents SOLOMON E. and
ELVINA WEAVER CARMICHAEL were supposedly married 9Feb1846 in Greene County,
Indiana. Do you have any information on your Susan Carmichael that might
match up with my SOLOMON?
When I get into this search if I come across any Melton name, I will let you
know.
Thank you,
Nancy

Darla,
At one time I could go to Bloomfield and look at the various records,
probate boxes, etc., then the LDS people came in and photo copied on
micro film all the records and the originals were sent to the attic
archives which are really not accessible any more. You might they looking
for the divorce records on micro film and I bet they are there.
Good Luck

Yes, Jill Behrman is still missing. Her bicycle was found but nothing else.
The support in Bloomington has been great with folks searching.
I don't think the police have very many clues. Please keep praying and
thanks for the support.

Hi ! Win;
How ya coming on Gilson's ?
I ran across these marriage records of John Gilson.
I am not sure if they pertain to my John b. 1814, but they are all
Columbiana Co. Ohio.
Would these first two be your entries, ref; LDS film # 0927766 ?
John Gilson found in:
Family Archive #400 Marriage Index: Selected Counties of Ohio, 1789-1850
Married: Mar 27, 1835 in Columbiana Co., OH
Spouse; Gilson , Nancy
Gender: M
More: Family History Library, Salt Lake City, UT, Film # 0927766.
John Gilson found in:
Family Archive #400 Marriage Index: Selected Counties of Ohio, 1789-1850
Married: Aug 27, 1835 in: Columbiana Co., OH
Spouse: Ruffe , Mary Ann
Gender: M
More: Family History Library, Salt Lake City, UT, Film # 0927766.
There are only five months apart on these marriages which leads me to believe
there may be more then one John Gilson in this county, in this time frame.
For instance; There is also a John Gilson of Columbiana Co Ohio that married
Seraph (sp.?) E. Allison on Aug. 29, 1871. ?
My John was long gone in 1860 and married I thought first to Sarah (Bowman)
McKaig in 1853 (also in Columbiana Co.) and second to Edna Hunter in 1862 at
Greene Co. Indiana.
Anyway I know for sure my John was in Greene County Indiana in 1860. I did
lose track of him between 1860 & 1870, but in 1880 he shows up in Putnam
County Missouri still married to Edna, so I don't think the 1871 marriage
applies to my John.
Does anyone have any information on any of these John Gilson's or spouses ?
Do you know what marriage record I would need to write for, to get the
parents names ? Application, license, or certificate ?.
Dave.
The email we received about a missing girl was sent to Channel 11 in
Louisville and today at noon it was on the news with an interview with the
parents. She is still missing.

MISSING PERSON - JILL BEHRMAN
PLEASE FORWARD THIS URL TO EVERYONE THAT YOU KNOW IN BLOOMINGTON AND
SURROUNDING AREAS! THANK YOU!

BEHRMAN</A>
ANY INFORMATION YOU MIGHT HAVE, PLEASE CALL (812) 336-0802 CELL PHONE (812)
322-3212
DETAILS: AGE: 19 HEIGHT: 5'6" WEIGHT: 120 lbs.
LAST SEEN: WED. MAY 31st riding a Cannondale R500 bicycle (black & white
frame) - SEE PICTURE BELOW
LAST SEEN WEARING: Dark green helmet, Black shorts, Red & white sleeveless
jersey with a Walkman strapped to her arm.
PLEASE READ MORE DETAILS BELOW!!
FYI -- Jill Behrman is missing. We have not seen her since early Wednesday
morning (05/31/2000). She was supposed to work at IU's SRSC from Noon to 3:00
p.m. -- she did not show up for her shift Wednesday (or Thursday).
Practically all of her "things" are here at home -- purse, backpack, wallet,
ID's , etc. The only things missing are Jill, her bike, her bike shoes, and
helmet, etc. She may have some money with her - not certain of that.
If you have heard from her at all or know anything about her whereabouts,
PLEASE e-mail or call us as soon as possible -- any time, day or night -
COLLECT is okay. (If the line is busy, it is just that I am online -- please
try again.) We just hope she is alright. My biggest fear is that she,
perhaps, had a bike wreck somewhere. It appears that she went on a ride
Wednesday morning and may not have returned. She was also supposed to meet
her Dad and Grandparents for a late lunch at Lennies after work on Wednesday
-- she did not show. Later on we began to realize that it appeared she was
actually missing.
Again, please contact us ASAP, if you know anything. Home: 812-336-0802 Cell
Phone: 812-322-3212
We have filed a missing person report and the police have posted that report.
We continue to call hospitals in the area, (jail too), and DNR (Conservation
Officers - report filed through Paynetown). Right now, we just do not have
much to go on. The bike is a Cannondale R-500, black-white fade; her helmet
is darkish green. She probably has on black riding shorts and possibly a
red/white sleeveless riding shirt and clipless bike shoes (black/gray). We
last saw her about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31.
We just need to find her. Please help if you can. We love Jill so much and
just need to know where she is and hopefully that things are okay. I will
inform you just as soon as we hear anything.
Thank you so much,
Marilyn Behrman
