Talked with our ISP provider and got squared away.... something to do with UUNET and translation of the DNS server.... so we access for now using 216.10.103.21 which is Ancestry's actual address.
Thanks for your comments and help..

Anyone here used the Ancestry.com web site since they revamped it a couple of days ago? We can no longer access the site at all and am wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. When we go to the home page, it still tells us to "Come Back Soon" and links to pages inside the site give us the deadly HTTP 404 error.

I am looking for my grandfather's brother Walter Monroe. As far as I know, he never married but lived in Greene Co. If anyone has run across my "needle in a haystack" please contact me. Thanks for any help. bqueen(a)compusmart.ab.ca

When you get old, your memory starts to fail. Just confirmed with a funeral home in Jasonville, that Old Union is indeed in Clay Co. They are checking to see if anyone has any records. They have not had success with that in the past.
Thanks for those who answered and my apologies for being so sure when I wasn't sure enough...

Okay, there seems to be a lot of confusion about which cemetery I am talking about and where it is.
It is in Sullivan Co. It is on the south side of State Road 48 between Jasonville and Hymera. The county line runs either next to or through Shakamak State Park whose entrance is also on the south side of 48. The cemetery is located a bit further west on Hwy 48 than Shakamak. The true name may be Old Union. Or I got a bad name, but that is where the cemetery is located. I have been there and read the inscriptions. You have to park along 48 as there is no driveway into the cemetery. I don't know how to explain it better than that.
The problem is that the headstone of John Stine has no death date on it. I do NOT know the date or location of his death otherwise I would not be trying to chase his death certificate in this manner. I have checked the IWPA books which should encompass the most likely date of death and the death is NOT recorded in Greene, Sullivan, Monroe or Orange Co. I have not had the chance to read the books for Clay, Martin, Owen or Vigo counties.
His wife, Sarah S Heslip Stine is buried alongside him and I have read her obituary in the Terre Haute Tribune. It does not mention a surviving spouse, however, her death certificate states that she was married at time of death in Greene Co. which was Jan, 1914.
Why am I looking so far afield for John's place of death? Well, I believe he was born in Monroe Co, I know he got married in Washington Co., and he resided in Greene Co most of his life. But that does not mean that he was in Greene when he died.
So, I am looking for an individual or organization that would have the Old Union records that would give me a lead on his date of death. I have no idea as to which funeral home might have been in charge or even what county they might have been in. The area is only 15 minutes from several counties.
Thanks again to those who have responded. I hope this clarification helps in identifying the information that I need.

The Jasonville Scout troop used to care for the cemetery on occasion, perhaps if you were to contact them, they would have a contact person. I thought Union Cemetery was in Greene County. A funeral parlor record might be a better hope. Good luck.
