Does anyone know how to contact Mildred Uland. She was the compiler of a book on Greene Co. called "Gone But Not Forgotten: An Anthology of Fact and Folklore - A History of Walnut Grove and Surrounding Areas."
I found a copy of the book in the Monroe Co., Indiana library and am interested in an article on one of the families.
Any information greatly appreciated. Please email me at:photobuff@argphotoshop.com

I'm looking for Melvenia SKINNER b. ca1851 Garrard Co.KY......Her parents
were CLARK SKINNER b. 1794 KY and Susannah ? b. 1820 KY.....The family
migrated from Garrard Co.KY to Greene Co.IN....then I found Melvenia in Owen
Co.IN living with her brothers family (David Skinner & Hamey Loruh
Livingston) on the 1880 census.....and I haven' t been able to find her since.
On one census her name was listed as Melvenia F.......so it is possible
that she might have gone by a middle name ? but I don't know what that
would be only beginning with the letter F......I can't find her married or
buried anywhere in Greene or Owen Co......it might be possible that she moved
to Monroe Co. close by?
If anyone has any knowledge of Melvenia F. SKINNER ......please contact me.
Thanks so much,
N.J.Skinner White

married 24 Aug 1842 Greene Co.IN.....have found evidence of them living in

Kim,
In response to your question about the Emanuel Hatfield Museum and
Library in Owensburg, I visited there about 1991 looking for information
on my ODELLs who lived in Owensburg from about 1840 through 1880. It
was a small place with limited hours as I recall. However, the people
were very friendly. The young woman there called one of the town men to
come and talk to us. The museum had a case or two of historical items
such as Emanuel Hatfields clothing and rifle. Most useful to me was a
30 to 40 page booklet entitled Owensburg that was published by local
historians (I believe it cost $3). The booklet has maps of the town and
Jackson Township ca. 1876 and several articles about the early settlers
including Emanuel Hatfield, Washington Hatfield, and Lilburn Owens that
mention many of other early settlers. The booklet does not have an
index. We also visited the small Emanuel Hatfield Pioneer Cemetery
where I found some of my ODELLs. In addition, we spoke to the Post
Master, Wilma Rollins, who helped with the Owensburg booklet.

Hi Kim,
Regarding the Hatfield museum, I've never been there myself, but I used to
be in touch with a lady who had something to do with it (I can't remember if
she ran it or just helped run it, or what). Her name is Karen Boruff, and
I've traded information with her in the past, though haven't been able to
lately as I've lost her address. Last I heard, she said she had some
updated to trade with me, but I was unable to reply to the (aol) address she
she left on the message board.
I'm indirectly related to the Hatfield's, Rainbolt's, Boruff's, Dugger's,
quite a few other family lines from there in that area. In my line of
Ferguson's, several of my ggg-aunts and uncles married into those lines.
Most of the information I have is available off of the my-ged site (linked
below).
BTW, whereabouts in CO are you? I'm in the Denver area myself...
