I'm looking for information on Edward/Edmon HOUSDEN who
was in the 1830 Delaware County Census (the part that
became Grant County). His name was spelled HOUSINDON in
this census.
There was also a Margaret HOUSDEN who was about the second
person to enter land in Grant County. I have no idea who she
might have been. But HOUSDEN is such an odd name I'd bet that
there is a relationship. There was also a John HOWDIN in Pleasant
Twp, Delaware County in the 1830 census (4 pages from Edward)
and a John J HOUSDEN in the 1840 Pleaseant Twp Grant County
Census (6 pages from Edward), again I have no idea who
this person might be.
Edward was in the 1840 Grant County, Pleasant Twp Census.
And had purchased land himself by then. His children, including my
gggrandfathe, where born in Grant County. I can trace him from
1830 to me today, and have connected with descendents of his
immediate birth family that goes back to Shenandoah County,
Virgina in 1769. In Virginia I can trace him from his birth
in 1790 to 1805 and then he disappears until he shows up in the 1830
Delaware County Census. He's been quite a character and I would
love to know more about him. His wife is Cassandra or Cassinda
but I know nothing else about her except that she was born
in Pennsylvania.
I have lots of other HOUSDEN family information that I would be
happy to share.
