I'm sending this to all the Indiana Mailing lists to which I subscribe, so
please forgive any duplicate messages.
I was wondering what people's experiences had been with the Indiana Archives.
Here's my story:
On June 28, 2000, I called the Indiana Archives and was given their e-mail
address for which to send my request. I hadn't heard anything, not even a
confirmation that they had received my request (yes, I double-checked the
e-mail address and it was the same as on their web page), so on September 9,
2000, I wrote back asking if they could give me an estimate of how much
longer it would take -- no pressure -- just a simple question. Again, no
response. Then, on October 25, 2000, I e-mailed them asking if it would help
if I sent money first -- still no response.
Does anyone know if they are so swarmed with requests that they don't even
have time to send a form letter stating that they've received my e-mail(s)?
What are people's experience with the Indiana Archives? How long does it
usually take to hear from them? I've only had one other place take longer --
six months, in another state. Yes, I realize many of these people are
volunteers. I'm just trying to find out if I should expect to hear from them
before 2001.
Thanks for any help.
