I don't know how many of you have ever seen a copy of a 1877 Grant
County
Atlas. I have one that a friend of mine purchased this summer at an
auction
in Nebraska. It has some water damage and the binding is broken, I
would
say the book is in good condition when you consider the age. The
pictures
are in excellent shape. I would have bought it myself but have no
kin in
Grant County that I know of, I did have family in Ripley County
about that
same time.
The short of this post, is that my friend would like to sell this
book to
some one in Indiana. We know that local atlases do bring a premium,
however
here in Nebraska few seem to be interested in Indiana atlases at
this time.
My friend said he would take $150 for the book. Let me know if you
would
like to know more. My email address is mjdavis(a)inebraska.com
I am certainly enjoying looking through the text, I hope it can find
a home
were it will be cherished. With some repair to the binding it would
be a
great piece. Let me know if my friend is in the ball park at all
in
thinking this book is a bargain at $150.
