Hi, Anisah,
This may not be what you are looking for, but Munfordville was the site of
what is locally called the Battle of the Bridge. The span in question was a
vital link of the Louisville & Nashville RR, which carried much of the
manpower and materiel headed to the mid-South.
With no major fort for either side nearby, prisoners were exchanged almost
as soon as the dust settled.
If you want more, let me know and I'll do some digging. We live about a
half-hour's drive south of Munfordville.

Subject: Civil War Prisoners from Grant County
I just got some civil war papers on my ancestor, Jacob Osenbaugh. It
said
he was a prisoner of war, but only said he was paroled at Mumfordsville,
Kentucky (closest city name to that is Munfordville, Hart County, KY). Does
anyone know if there is any information about soldiers from Grant County who
were POW's?
Thanks!
Anisah :)
