I had hoped that since Margaret died in 1871 that the 1870 census would help
find the name of the ninth child, but the only children listed there are the
six living ones that you already know about. I could not find them in 1860
Grant County, since they appear to have still been in Ohio in 1860. The
1870 Grant County census lists Margaret as Christina, aged 44, yet in Union
Chapel cemetery she is Margaret, aged 48 when she died in 1871.
The 9th child may have been one that only lived a few days, and there may be
no other record of it.

Margaret and two children, Christina and Simon, are buried in Union Chapel
Cemetery
in Washington Twp. Children who survived were :
1. Catherine D. EIS, b abt 1847, m John W. SHEPHERD 10 Mar1872 in Grant
Co.
2. Edward EIS, b abt 1853, m Martha A. CAMPBELL, 8 Nov 1874 in Grant
Co.
3. Lewis EIS, b abt 1853, m Elizabeth C. LAMM, 20 Dec 1875 in Grant Co.
4. Maria B. EIS,b abt 1855, m Hiram A. HUFF, 20 Aug 1878 in Grant Co.
5. Daniel EIS, b abt 1858
6. John EIS, b abt 1864
Joseph's obituary mentioned that two children had previously died but said
9
children total. I am searching for the name of that 9th child as well as
descendents of any of the other children. I also have EIS information back
to about 1715 to share.
