Yes, I understand by having my info online that others can copy it and one of the reasons
I have it online is so that someone out there might be helped with a "brickwall"
family. But I guess the reason I find it irritating when someone wants my gedcom to
insert into their own is that I find that to be a bit lazy on their part. They don't
want to navigate my online info and take notes; notes which should be verified as I DO
sometimes make mistakes. Maybe you think me wrong to feel that way or maybe I'm the
only one who feels that if you do find answers to your brickwalls in my file it's not
asking too much for you to take a good old pencil and piece of paper and make notes.
There is also a feature at WorldConnect where you click on the word "Register"
and it makes up a nice little report that can be printed on your printer.

I find I am getting more and more requests asking me to "send my GEDCOM" to
people. Why would I do this?
On the one hand, I know how you feel. You spent a lot of time and effort to find the
information that you have found.
On the other hand, why exactly did you publish it on the web? Whatever I put on the web
for all to see, I expect someone to copy it. It may represent my work, but my family
genealogy does not be long just to me. It belongs to all the family, certainly to anyone
who is interested.
In a way I'm flattered when someone wants my research.
Just another perspective.
