Have been able to trace the Annanias Smith line back through Kentucky to
South and North Carolina but am drawing complete blanks from that point
on. Annanias Smith married Phoebe Ellen Davidson a Quaker woman who
attended the Back Creek and Fairmount Monthly Meetings. Annanias, before
the 1920 census was identified a mulatto.
Any help in locating Annaias' sisters and brothers descendants in Grant
County would be greatly appreciated. They were:
Margaret Smith, Married Matthew Beck She was born in 1857
Elizabeth Smith, b. abt 1862
George W. Smith, b 1864
Margale Smith, b 1857
Samatia or Samantha Smith, B 1865.
Annanias' father was Waddy T. Smith and was married to Jane Marks, a
white woman from TN.
Their children, for the most part, moved to Grant county also but I am
having problems locating records on them. They are:
William, b.1815
Phebe, b.1821
Osborn, b 1827
Madison and James, b 1837
Andrew, b.1837
Mary, b. 1843
Lucy, b 1856
Lavinia, b 1850
Waddy and his wife Jane are buried in Grant County as is his mother or
Grandmother, Nancy Smith. I cannot locate what cemetery they are buried
in. I only know that Annanias and Phoebe Ellen are buried in Park Creek.
Anyone with suggestions or knowledge?
Thanks,
Jim Smith
