Unfortunately, the cemetery is a not-for-profit and does not have insurance
for vandalism. Since the cemetery is a non-profit organization, and giving
to their perpetual fund is tax deductible. Contributions can be made to:
Estates of Serenity Perpetual Fund
1101 South Lincoln Blvd.
Marion, IN 46953
Attn: Neal Jeffries
(765) 664-3111
Note: Checks must be made payable to the cemetery to be tax deductible. As
always check with your accountant or CPA for tax purposes.

Here's a direct link to the second spree of damage.
I'm wondering if the organization that is going to repair the damage has
insurance?? If not, I'd gladly donate $20 to help. Does anyone know?
I have family buried here as well, and this news just sickens me. I have
spent hours in this cemetery searching, walking..and just plain enjoying the
beauty there. I wish I lived in Marion, I'd volunteer to help if I could.
And correct me if I'm wrong, but was this cemetery formerly named the Marion
IOOF cemetery? Or maybe I'm way off base.

Subject: Cemetery Vandalism
Hi Everyone -
I too am concerned abt the recent Cem vandalism! I am not sure if any of
my
relatives are buried there or not but I do know many rest in the IOOF and
Grant Memorial Cemeterys. I left Marion during WW II and after 38 years
with the
military I retired on the MS Gulf Coast.
We had a similar vandalism incident in the historic Cemetery in Biloxi,
MS.
The local police depar\tment did a fine job of tracing it to some
malicious
tennagers!
There is a site that some of you may not be familiar with and it is well
worth your time to check it out. Take a look at-

On this site you can scroll, down to Grant County and find the listing of
local cemeteries that need attention.
If you scroll down to Hancock Co. you will find my comments on the
Eastes/Harvey Cemetery located at Mt Comfort, IN.
