My husband received this message about the meeting on Sat. Feb. 22 at the
Marion Public Library. This would be an opportunity to voice our opinions
about House Bill 1540. This bill will limit our access to public records.
One in general is the about not being able to obtain records until 75 years
after a persons birth. This bill will be devastating to those who are
researching their families. Please come and voice your opinions on this
bill and any other concerns you may have.

Chamber members and guests, as well as the general public, are invited to
attend the Third House Session on Saturday, February 22, 2003 at 8:00 a.m.
until 9:00 a.m. at the Marion Public Library. Eric Walts, Chamber Board
Vice Chairman of Governmental Affairs, will serve as moderator. Senator
Luke Kenley, Senator David Ford, Senator Gary Dillon, Representative Eric
Turner, and Representative Dean Young will update the public and answer
questions regarding pending and completed state legislation. Also, Rep.
Eric Turner will share up-to-date information about the state budget.
Grant County Farm Bureau will co-host the event. Time Warner Cable will
simulcast the session and will rebroadcast it during the weeks following the
event.
