Fairmount
Miss Ethel Keever, dau. of Wm. Keever, well known farmer south of town, is seriously
ill with symptoms of appendicitis. She will be removed to the Grant County Hospital as
soon as she is able to make the trip.
The funeral service of Mrs. Elizabeth Pearson was held Thursday afternoon, at 2 p.m.
at the Friend Church and at 3:30 p.m.
the funeral services of Mrs. Mary Hodson was conducted. The remains of Mrs. Pearson were
placed in the Park cemetery. While the Hodson burial was made at Back creek.
Robert Moon who was injured by a wire striking him in the eye is getting along as well
as could be expected with hopes of saving the eye.

A. Harreld
The funeral of the late Alonzo Harreld, who died Thursday morning at his home in
Washington twp. will take place Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. from the Fairview Church and
interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery. The deceased was a well known farmer
and leaves a wife, four children, four brothers, and two sisters.

on Saturday
The funeral of Mrs. Mary Boyd will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 from the First
Friends Church and interment will be made in the IOOF cemetery. The services will be
conducted by the Rev. C.E.Hiatt.
Subject of
Complaint
Clover Marlowe, now with her mother, Mrs. Snyder, on "seven-up-row" in
southwest Marion, is again the subject of complaint by neighbors. The girl has been in
the county infirmary most of the time the last two yrs. But Mrs. Snyder, her mother
desires her at home. Mrs. Marlowe is incurably insane but is regarded as harmless, having
been discharged from the asylum as such but the neighbors insist she annoys them. Officer
Clifton has been notified to investigate the complaints lodged with the authorities.
Roseburg
It was a very pleasant surprise to the neighbors of this town and vincinity when news
of the marriage of Orla Evans, near Radley, and Miss Hulda Knight, dau. of Mr. & Mrs.
Wm. Knight of this place, reached here. The young couple were married at the county
clerk's office Sat. afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Evans are both industrious and wide-awake
young people, and there is no doubt but that they will meet with great success in their
new life.
John Gotchall and his daughter Helen are on the sick list.
Mr. and Mrs. Eli Thomas and family of near Slash called on Mrs. Jennie Rader, the
latter's sister, Sunday.
Miss Iva Miller of Coles and Fern Fisher of Greentown returned home last week after
spending several days with their grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. John Sloderbeck, of this
place.
Mrs. Ellen Schooley visited her sister, Mrs. Eliza Hiatt of Marion on Sunday.

Teach School
Miss Jessie Creviston, a prominent young lady of Van Buren twp. and a graduate of the
V.B.H.S. has returned to her home near Van Buren after spending three months at the Marion
Normal College, Miss Jessie made good and received her credits. She is preparing to
teach in the public schools of Grant County.
