Dear Guy;
Try the website, Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness; I am a member and do searches in
Knox Co., Ohio, but there may be someone in/near Bellefontaine, Logan county that could
search the marriage records at the courthouse. There is usually no charge unless it is a
distance, the searcher would charge for gasoline.

Subject: John Raymond ELLIOTT (1899-1993)
I am seeking to document the marriage of John Raymond ELLIOTT and Audrey Helen FAULDER (my
mother's cousin). Relevant information follows:
John Raymond ELLIOTT, b. 26 Aug 1899 in Wabash Co., Indiana; d. 13 Jul 1993 in Wabash Co.,
Indiana (probably in North Manchester, his last residence per the SSDI).
Audrey Helen FAULDER, b. 2 Apr 1897 in Bellefontaine, Logan, Ohio; d.15 Jan 1926 in
Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio.
The only child of this union was Edward Lawrence ELLIOTT, b. 26 Nov 1925 in Cleveland,
Cuyahoga, Ohio; d. 20 Dec 1925 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio.
John Raymond ELLIOTT and Audrey Helen FAULDER most likely met while both were students at
Taylor University in Upland, Grant, Indiana. He is shown on the 1920 census as a single
university student living with his parents in Wabash, so the marriage must have taken
place sometime between 1920 and 1925. At the time of Audrey's death (from
complications following childbirth), they were living in Ashtabula Co., Ohio, where she
was teaching home economics in high school. Audrey and her infant son were both buried in
her home town of Bellefontaine, Logan, Ohio, where her family was fairly prominent (her
father had been chief of police there).
I have searched the pertinent FHL films without finding any record of this marriage in
Logan Co. or Ashtabula Co., Ohio, and I now suspect that the marriage may possibly have
taken place in Indiana -- either in his home town of Wabash or while the couple was at
school in Upland (Grant Co.).
Can anyone help me identify the date and/or place of this marriage?
Many thanks,
Guy I. Colby IV

Hi Jeanette
Did you try searching the free site that was posted on
