Hello Everyone,
I'm looking for the descendents of Lewis (Lee) and Katherine Griger.
Also trying to identify the cemetary where Katherine is buired. Lee Griger
was born in Upson County Georgia in 1890. His father's name was George J
Griger (Griggs on the 1900 Federal Census) and Mattie L Flowers. Mattie
died after the birth of Lee's sister, Essie. George was remarried by 1910
to a woman named Della. Lee had another sister named Mamie Elizabeth
(Griger) Cooper. Mamie was my g-grandmother. Don't know when Lee moved to
Indiana or married Katherine. After looking on the Grant County Health
Department website, I found that Katherine, Lee's wife, was buried in the
I.O.O.F cemetary. Does anyone know what IOOF stands for? I think that Lee
and Katherine had a daughter named Dorothy but I'm not 100% on that. I
don't know the name of the man that Dorothy may have married. If anyone has
any info on the cemetary or on this family, please let me hear from you.
Thanks so much for any help,
Pat Vermeer
I.O.O.F. stands for the International Order of Odd Fellows, I believe.
Several of the Grant County cemeteries are online. You can check them out at:
