Hi,
I have been reading.
I live in Grant county, Marion actually.
Close to the Library also, can I help in anyway?
Save a long distance call perhaps?
Also, do you look into the Library web site?

I've had the best luck actually calling the locations directly, rather than
using the links on the site. As a matter of fact, I once sent out a request
for a record of death using an address on a website(to LaPorte County IN,
not Grant Co) and had the letter returned to me due to an incorrect address.
Online is great, but it's always best to verify info, as some websites are
not updated frequently. So I've since reverted to the old fashioned "phone
call" to confirm my info and see what specific requirements that county
needed to provide records. This info varies greatly county to county, as
well as state to state.
As for the Marion Public Library specifically, the staff there answer their
own calls. After providing them with approximate DOB and names(search
subject and his/her parents), they did a search and later emailed me with
the specific reel and page number that fit the request. Luckily, I still
have relatives that are in Grant county who then went to the library and
obtained the hard copy. In your circumstances (Barbara, original email),
I'd give them a call to see how they can work with you.
As for the links on Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Estate Books, I'm sure
that is a Grant County Site issue, rather than a Marion Public Library
issue. Hopefully our terrific webmaster (the Hoggatts) read this email and
can work on that. I've had great luck using the Grant Co rootsweb site,
both with Sheila Watson as coordinator and with Ruth and Brad Hoggatt. An
irreplaceable tool for me doing out-of-state genealogy searches.

I too have been searching Grant County and others for records of family. I
went to the website but the three links concerning births, deaths,
marriages
and estate books are not valid links. "This page cannot be displayed" I
had so hoped to find a few facts.
Have you been able to search these in the past?
