Family Tree maker, has a Timeline, it is a separate chart that you can go
to, it gives dates, not the important things that happened in this time
period. You would still have to use your good old history book, as Linda
said.

Your post seems a bit satirical, so I don't know if you are serious or
not,
but I have read about this software. I have not tried it, but I
suppose
it
could be interesting for the obsessed genealogist, which I have been
accused
of being (and readily admit to). I can't help thinking that a
good old
history book would serve the same purpose and would be free at the
library,
but on the other hand, I would be interested if the software included
such
things as plagues and epidemics. For instance, I noted that one family
in
my genealogy had about 5 children who all died in September and
October of
the same year, and I am really curious as to whether there was a smallpox
or
flu epidemic at the time. (We certainly hope Mrs. So and So just
didn't
get
tired of them fighting all the time, and well, you know.........)
