Can anyone provide me with a location of early issues of the Marion
Chronicle? I am looking for a particular obit or death notice in 1871. I
would like to ILL it if it is available on microfilm, as I have a reader in
my home in which I read through old newspaper issues.
The Marion Public Library <
http://www.marion.lib.in.us/> has holding of
the back issues of the Marion Chronicle-Tribune, and its predecessors,
The Leader-Tribune, The Chronicle, etc. Back to a certain date (I'm not
sure what) they are in the main library in the periodicals stacks.
Prior to that cut over date, they are in the history department, which
is called the Indiana Room and is also home to the genealogical
holdings. For any issues from the 19th Century, you'll find them in the
Indiana Room.
Their web site gives phone and e-mail contact information as well as
hours of opening, etc.
