Does anyone have the direct website address to the Indiana Marriage Index?

Hi Listers!
Are you aware that the Indiana Marriage Index (I forget what years) is on
Ancestry.com, free for the next 9 days? Check it out. I found quite a few
of my ancestors on there.

Can anyone tell me anything about Leander Lawson, son of Shadrack and Phebe Lawson of Richland Township? He was married in Grant Co. in 1865 to Nancy C. Bechtel. I need to identify their children. Would like to hear from anyone who has knowledge of this family.

Someone asked about a Creviston connection but I have lost/deleted the e-mail query. However, here are a couple that i copied while in Marion, IN a year or so ago:
CREVISTON, William m LATRIDGE, Minerva 15 Jun 1850
page 7
CREVISTON, Delila m WHISTLER, Andrew 4 Jul 1841
page 26
--Grant Co Marriage Records 1831-1853

Hope these help. If you locate any other information on a LATRIDGE or LOTRIDGE or LOCKRIDGE connection, please contact me at my e-mail address. Thanks.

Dorie,
A Jim Alan Burdick, Ph. D. at burdick(a)creative-net.net has complied a
Renbarger Genealogy Book of Grant County, Indiana and was selling to highest
bidder on e-Bay. I was outbid but he e-mailed me that he had more copies of
the book for $12.00 plus shipping. You might see if he can help or if he
has more books.

Hi Everyone -
Some one ask -
I've seen a reference to a Loof Cemetery in Grant County, but it's not among
those listed online. Is there a cemetery by this name? If so, does anyone
have access to the transcriptions?
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Here is a way to find out about the IOOF cemetery and others of interest.
http://www.findagrave.com/
-Then select - Search for a cemetery (on the right side)
Type in the name of the Cemetery and State - Search
-Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on load Map.
Another web site is:
http://www.ingenweb.org/grant/
- Scroll down to:
- For Grant County Cemeteries and other good cemetery l
- Then click on Grant County Cemeterys
Scroll down the page and on the left side near the bottom you will find:
Mississineway Quaker -
Click on this and you will find the history of the IOOF Cemetery. It lists
many of the older inscriptions but it is so large I doubt if a total list is
available.
My Original home was in Marion and many of my ancestors are buried in this
IOOF Cemetery.
Best Regards
Roy Eastes Gulfport, MS

When we record our heritage we take great pride in looking at our list of
ancestors and admire their origins, migrations and accomplishments. But,
what good is it - unless it’s true?
We need stories and rumors, they are great and often lead to the truth!
BUT - Help eliminate errors. Don't take anything as Fact! Check references
for validity! If we don’t our children’s children will be led down false
trails and they will never be able to find their true heritage.
I believe what you are referring to is the IOOF Cemetery in Marion. The
first letter is an "I", not an "L".

INFORMATION TO ALL THOSE THAT YOU CAN. IF THEY RECEIVE A TITLED EMAIL " UP-GRADE
INTERNET2 " DO NOT OPEN IT, THE ATTACHMENT NAMED PERRIN.EXE. THIS VIRUS ERASED
ALL THE INFORMATION FROM THE HARD DISK AND SOMEHOW IT HIDES IN THE MEMORY OF THE
COMPUTER, THIS WOULD EXPLAIN WHY WHENEVER THE INFORMATION WAS LOADED BACK TO THE
HARD DISK, IT WAS ERASED AGAIN, LEAVING THE COMPUTER PRACTICALLY UNUSABLE. THIS
INFORMATION WAS PUBLISHED YESTERDAY AND ON CNN's WEBSITE IT IS SAID THAT THIS
VIRUS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND THAT ANTIVIRUS DOES NOT DETECT IT. FORWARD THIS
EMAIL TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT YOU CAN, SINCE IT IS CERTAIN AT LEAST THAT IT
CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED. THANKS

I'm looking for any clues that will lead me to my great-great grandparents,
Daniel Hollingsworth and Jemima Hiatt. Both were born around 1835, and I
believe they were born in Indiana - perhaps Madison County near Summittville.
Daniel Hollingsworth was a blacksmith and died around 1930. His wife,
Jemima Hiatt, died around 1935. They had a daughter, Sarah Ellinger
Hollingsworth, who was born December 18, 1875 and died in 1953. She married
Joseph Franklin Stanley (b. 5/23/1875, d. 3/31/1962). The date and place of
their marriage is unknown to me.
Thank you in advance.
