Hi List,
I am trying to find the obituary of James W. BRISON who, I believe from
records in Pulaski County, moved to Marion, Grant County and died there in
1903. He was married to Hanna Mechling BRISON and I don't know if she was
still living in 1903 or not. Are there Death Indexes available for Grant
county for that time period?
Thanks,
Dan Woolary

Dear Amrev-Hessians,
At one time I had an enquiry about George Renbarger, probably a slightly
americanized name which I have been unable to identify as yet. While
browsing
at Amazon auctions, I came across the book mentioned below, and here
he is. Do not want to miss to tell you about if their are descendants of
this
man on our list. Would be nice to hear from them. And don't forget - the
auction closes tomorrow.
Cheers,
John

Does someone have an 1860 census that could look up Zachariah Burden to see
who his children and wife were
and where they were born?
Thank you
Charlotte
Bobbie Lee,
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I had heard of KAK but wasn't
worried since I NEVER open an attachment unless I have asked someone to send
me a file. Little did I know that all you have to do to get this one is
read an email.
When I did "find" for KAK I found that I had this worm since May! My
apologies to anyone that I may have passed it on to.
After updating my Norton's virus list I scanned my hard drives and it didn't
show up. But when I did "Find: Kak" there it was. I left clicked on the
file, then right-clicked to get the menu that gives me the option to scan
with Norton's. This verified that it was a virus and it cleaned it for me
automatically. Then, at the Norton's site http://www.symantec.com I ran a
search for KAK and found the following link to a Microsoft patch
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms99-032.asp that
prevents you from getting the worm again (unless you open the attachment).
Again, I apologize to anyone that I may have infected.
Judy Cameron

Subject: [VARUSSEL] Kak Virus , please read! ( I had it and removed it and
am notifying everyone in my adress book)
> Hello all, I discovered today that I had the W.Script.KakWorm virus. This
virus affects Microsoft Outlook Express users. It attaches itself to all
outgoing messages using the signature feature (even if you do not have a
signature enabled). The virus is spread as part of an email NOT AN
ATTACHMENT. If your email is not set up for or capable of handling html ,the
program or server will convert it to an attachment. This attachment will
usually have a name such as Att1.htm. If you open the attachment it can have
the same effect as would receiving the email message with the worm embedded.
Norton did not find this virus in the initial scan. I happened to find the
file while editing my signature in Outlook Express. I went to Tools,
Options,Signatures and noticed that the attach file option was checked and
the name of the file was C;/kak,
> I knew then that I had a virus. You can also do this to check for the
virus or go to Start, Find,Files or Folders and by typing in kak. If you
find files named this scan them with your anti-virus software and follow the
instructions. If you discover you have the virus and your anti virus software
cannot remove it, Norton Anti-Virus has a site that tells you how to
manually remove it. I had to use this option and it was successful. This
virus has a payload that hits at 5:00 pm on the 1st day of the month. It
causes the message "Kagou-Anti-Kro$Soft says not today!" if you click ok the
computer shuts down. It returns each time you start Windows. You may also
see memory driver error messages.I believe I caught the virus yesterday, or
today since this did not happen to me and I only noticed the virus by
accident before it could actually do any damage.I apologize to anyone I have
sent mail too, my virus scan and definition files are completely up to date
and I am very meticulous ab!
> out these things.I don't know how this virus escapes detection or why it
has to be manually removed. I just wanted to let everyone in my address book
know just in case.Microsoft has a patch to fix this. Even if you do not have
the virus , if you use Outlook make sure you get this patch. Thanks

First, I want to tell everyone on this list that my subscription to it has
been more successful than I could have imagined. I subscribed about one week
ago, and through the generous efforts of other subscribers, I have gathered
more information about my ancestors than I gathered in over a year as a
subscriber to other lists. All I can say is (humbly) "Thank you". You have
turned this part-time hobby of genealogy into a passion (But, unfortunately
for me its still part-time. I do work full-time to feed the members of my
"Family List" listed as PRIVATE). :>
Now, I would like to ask for additional information. I have traced my
ancestors to Grant, Madison, and Tipton Counties. I would like to write to
the various County Departments' of Health and Clerks' of Courts for copies of
birth, death and marriage certificates. Does anyone on the list have those
addresses or (preferably) can you direct me to a web page that does.
Thanks again for all of your help.
