David
Thanks this David is the one on page 12 he was the brother of my William
Scott (pictured on front of history). I think he was the first Scott to come
to Indiana with William following to settle in Owensville. Early records
mention Scott and Brother mercantile etc in Owensville). I think William was
responsible for Scott Addition with his house being on Scott street.
Brother David is mentioned in some early letters by Samuel W Scott (brother
of William Scott and Brother I think). Any info you might have on any of
these Scott's would be of interest too.
Thanks for the help
Jud

Jud,
1860 census; Patoka, White River Township.
David Scott 39 M Carpenter Tenn
Isophena 25 F Ind.
Alison 6 M "
Florence 2 F "
1870 census; White River Township.
Scott, David 42 M Carpenter Tenn
" Mary 29 F Keeping Hse Indiana
" Samuel 16 M "
" Isadora 11 F "
Not found in subsequent census records in Gibson County.
Marriage Records:
1) David J Scott married Isophena T MILBURN 13 Jan 1853, Gibson County
(Book 1:327)
2) David J Scott married Mary A HARRISON 23 Apr 1868, Gibson County.
(Book 3:477)
I double-checked and so far he has not turned up in any of the White River
Twp. cemeteries I have photographed. It is evident that there are a lot of
graves at the Patoka (Old) Cemetery that are not marked, and unfortunately
the cemetery records apparently were destroyed in a fire.
Hope this helps a little,
Dan
