Sarah & others,
Here is the reply I sent JoAnn. I have a ton of Woods information, but am
terribly slow getting it into the computer. I recently started working
different (and more) hours, and cannot find enough time to get caught up on
genealogy work. I hope to find more time this Winter, as I have several
other people that have written me on various branches of this Woods line.

Dear JoAnn,
Yes, this is the same Woods family. Please allow me a day or two to go
through my notes and get exact names and dates, I do not have all this
information in the computer yet. This is what I did find in my outline:
Marshall Neeley Woods and Sarah Ellen Kirby Woods are found in most of the
records as Neeley Woods and Ellen or Ella Woods. They are both buried in
Columbia (White Church) cemetery Southwest of Princeton, Indiana. Neeley
was born in 1863 and died in 1932. Ellen was born in 1867 and died in 1941.
Parents of Neeley were Joseph Newton Woods and Martha Neeley. Joseph
Newton was married second to Rebecca J. Mangrum. He also had children,
Carlos, Leota, and Minerva. These may be by his second wife Rebecca.
Parents of Joseph Newton Woods were Patrick N. Woods and Freelove Wiggins.
Patrick was born on October 8, 1809 and died on March 22, 1888 at the age
of 78 years 4 months and 24 days. Freelove was born on April 4, 1812 and
died on April 7, 1871 at the age of 59 years and 3 days. They were married
in 1832, and both are buried in White Church cemetery.
Parents of Patrick N. Woods were Joseph Lapsley Woods and Elizabeth Hannah.
Joseph L. was born October 25, 1776 and died December 22 1845 at the age
of 69 years 1 month and 28 days. Elizabeth was born April 30 1784 and died
November 14 1860. Her sister Jane (Jenny) Hannah married Patrick Woods,
brother of Joseph L. Joseph L., Elizabeth, and Jenny are all buried in
Marsh Creek cemetery (also known as Woods Cemetery) 3 miles Southwest of
Princeton IN.
Joseph L. was the 5th child of the Pioneer Joseph Woods. Joseph Woods was
born near Charlottsville, Albemarie County Virginia, August 22,1745. He
was married January 28, 1768 to Mary Hamiliton of said county. She was
born in 1747 and died August 26, 1829. About 1790 Joseph Woods, together
with his wife and ten children, migrated to Tennessee and settled on the
Holston river about ten
miles from Knoxville, where Samuel Hamilton Woods, the eleventh and last
child, was born in 1791. In 1807 he removed, with all his family except
his son Joseph L., to Knox County, Indiana, and settled on Du Chien (Du
Shee) river. April 10,1809 he removed to Gibson County, Indiana, and
settled on Turkey Hill in sec 21, T 2 S, R 10 W, 3 miles Southwest of
Princeton. In 1811 his son Joseph L., and family, followed from Tennessee
and settled 2 miles west of the homestead. He died January 16, 1835 on his
Turkey Hill farm.
Joseph Woods served in the Revolutionary War as a private in Capt. Benj.
