Ernie,
I may also have some info for you on your MARTIN family. I have
info on a MARTIN family that has a Henry Clay MARTIN. However,
the birth date I show is different from the one you show.
I had thought at one time that I would tie into this MARTIN
family, but have never been able to make a tie. I still have
quite a lot of info on it which was passed along to me. I am
more than willing to share what I have with you.
Chawn

Subject: RE: Martin
Judy M. and others,
The MARTIN line I am working on is the parents of my grandmother,
Lillie
Melinda MARTIN who was born September 30, 1879. She married
Martin LASLEY
on December 31, 1896. Her parents were Henry Clay MARTIN and
Elizabeth
BURTON. In some records, she is listed as Emily. My information
is
sketchy, but this is what I have so far:
Henry Clay MARTIN, b. 1810 IN, d. 1912.
M. Elizabeth (Emily?) BURTON on January 22, 1870. She was b.
1850, d. 1930.
Children:
James F. 1874 - 1924
Carolyn 1875 - 1940 m. _____HELTON
Samuel 1877 - aft. 1965
Lillie M. 1879 - 1964 m. Martin LASLEY
Anna 1881 - 1956 m. _____MIDDLETON
Elizabeth 1883 - 1918 m. _____STEPHENS
Ellison 1887 - 1949
There is another Henry MARTIN in the 1850 and 1860 census
records, could
possibly be the same Henry with a first wife:
M. Mary ____ b. abt. 1813 SC, d. unknown.
Children:
John H. b. abt. 1845
Mary J. b. abt. 1847
William M. b. abt 1864. (not sure if Mary was his mother)
In 1860, Mary, age 65, from NC was in this household.
I have a lot of work to do on this line.
