Waneta,
While I am not researching the VICKERS surname, your message caught my
attention because of the name Elizabeth Ann HOPKINS. I have the name
HOPKINS associated with my direct MORRISON line.
My great grandmother, Lydia Elizabeth SPENCER, was married to a Mr. HOPKINS
prior to her marriage to my great grand father, Barnett MORRISON. Lydia and
Mr. HOPKINS had two children. These were James Edgar HOPKINS who was born
22 January 1871, and a Marley HOPKINS who was born 10 March 1874 and died 14
September 1875. I do not know the given name of Mr. HOPKINS.
Does any of this look familier to anyone? I would like to correspond with
anyone who may be researching this HOPKINS line, or who may be a descendant
of James Edgar HOPKINS.

Subject: VICKERS
Trying to find ANY info on PINKNEY POLK VICKERS, changed to JAMES
POLK
VICKERS born September 28, 1840 in Francisco, Indiana (?), married to
Elizabeth Ann Hopkins July 06, 1865 in Gibson County, Indiana.
Father and mother may have died when he was young. Supposedly (?)
raised by an uncle. He is listed on the 1850 Columbia Township, Gibson
County, Indiana Census:
Grandison Vickers 40 born in North Carolina
Elizabeth Ann 30 born in Indiana
Stacy Vickers 74 born in Virginia
John Vickers 20 born in North Carolina
PINKNEY POLK VICKERS 10 born in Indiana
Elizabeth Ann could not be John's mother, she is not old enough. She
could be Pinkney's mother.
Are John and Pinkney brothers?
Is Stacy Grandison's mother?
This has puzzled us for so long. Can't get any farther on this line
until this is answered.
Would be forever grateful if anyone can help on this.
Would love to know if Grandison is the uncle or the father of Pinkney
Polk. Are John and Pinkney Polk brothers?
