I am looking for information on George Harger. His son Alonzo is my grandfather. I believe
Alonzo may have been raised or lived with a family named Vierling sp?. I don't know
whether these families are related or not.
My father was born in Oakland City.
Thanks,
Paula Harger Travis

I envy all of you TAYLOR researchers that have at least found out something. I have a
Samuel TAYLOR b ca 1817 KY? married to Elizabeth M TAYLOR born 1818 in Ohio on Jan 21,
1839 in Gibson Co, IN. Samuel died Nov 10, 1885 I think in Perry Co, IL, and Elizabeth
died Nov 17, 1885 in Perry Co, IL. Children are:
1. Nancy J TAYLOR, b ca 1844 IN
2. Rhoda TAYLOR b ca 1847 IN
3. Frances Wishley TAYLOR b 1849 IN, married James Carl WOODSIDE, Perry Co, IL in 1871,
died 1929 Randolph Co, IL.
4. John Sherley TAYLOR (my line) b Nov 30, 1852 IN, married (1) Melissa Kinney; (2) Mary
Elizabeth WOODSIDE 1880, Perry Co, IL , b 1858 Washington Co, IL, died 1948 IL.
5. James TAYLOR b ca 1853 IN
6. Alfred TAYLOR b ca 1858 IN.
With Samuel and Elizabeth being married in 1839, the TAYLOR tradition is to have many
more than 6 kids. These are the only ones I've found so far. Does any of this sound
familiar to anybody?
Jo

I have found an 1884 History of Gibson Co., IN by James Tartt, Reprinted
1968, Black cover, hardbound, not indexed. Excellent condition.
What would you folks think would be a good price for this? I don't want to
give too much privately if I can find one through a local seller in Gibson
Co.--if there is one .
Thanks,
Linda

Does anyone know if this book can be purchased locally
in Gibson Co.? Or any other source?
Price or at least ball-park figure of selling price?
Thanks, Linda

Any descendants of the Alexander Devin family still around Gibson County?
If anyone has biographical sketches of the DEVINs of 1850-1900 in the county
history books, I would like a copy, please.
THANKS! Please write to me directly.
