Joe and Nancy,
Since posting my query I have found that Georgia McEllhiney has tracked
down his wife in Spencer County. Mary Williamson died there in 1894 and is
buried in Shiloh Cemetery. Georgia is trying to find someone with Spencer
County cemetery records, there are none on-line. He may be buried there,
and the stone somehow ended up in Princeton.

Ernie and Connie, Here is another wild guess for you. The 1840 census
for
Gibson Co, Patoka Township includes an ALEXANDER MCWILLIAMS. Since this
family is in the right location, I am going to suggest that they dropped the
"Mc," as did many others. There is a male child listed in the first column,
which would be under age 5. Your Alexander would have been 6 or 7.....but
we all know how often the census enumerators made errors. What do you
think? Nancy in CA.
