Ernie and Connie, Here is another wild guess for you. The 1840 census for
Gibson Co, Patoka Township includes an ALEXANDER MCWILLIAMS. Since this
family is in the right location, I am going to suggest that they dropped the
"Mc," as did many others. There is a male child listed in the first column,
which would be under age 5. Your Alexander would have been 6 or 7.....but
we all know how often the census enumerators made errors. What do you
